The Iron Duke: Consultation Activities

The Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust will be holding a round of consultation activities in June this year asking for the community's thoughts on The Iron Duke, an inter-war designed art-deco pub at the junction between Jellicoe Road and North Drive in Great Yarmouth.

Currently in need of significant repair, it has recently received funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to preserve it for future generations.

Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.

You held a consultation with the public the majority of which want the Duke to be run as a pub. Now that Lottery funding has been secured the pub's future is now affirmed as a pub and not a burger bar . Excellent news. When is it reopening ?

How can it be a genuine public consultation when you have already decided to give the pub to Zaks? They have no pub experience. No experience of a heritage pub of this calibre or of offering accommodation which the feasibility study recommends. Do the right thing and out the pub out to tender.
