Historic Wall Painting discovered in 135 King Street

18. November 2013

Four conservators are staying in Great Yarmouth for a week to survey, record and decipher an historic wall painting discovered in 135 King Street. This is an initial stage towards a full conservation project.

The wall painting was found under panelling predating 1830, so it was possibly created in the 18th Century.  However, there is fabric in the building dating even earlier, so everybody involved in the project is very keen to ascertain a reliable date.
